WHO’S WHO IN THE GUILD

YOUR GUIDE TO WHO DOES WHAT
IN THE GUILD AND WHERE TO GO
IF YOU NEED INFORMATION AND HELP

Any current Guild member can stand for election onto the committee. The various posts are decided at AGMs and amongst the committee. Please see your 'Quillers Today' magazine for a full list of addresses.

CHAIRMAN: Jayne Horner is our Chairman. 'My first experience with Quilling was through the Regional Rep. An event was arranged and my interest was sparked. I quietly beavered away at home, practising getting the tension right so my quilled pieces were even and suddenly I was hooked completely. That was over five years ago. I went to the Festival at York in 2002 and became the secretary on the Guild Committee. I have just taken over as Chairman. My interests are generally around card making of all kinds.'

VICE-CHAIRMAN & PUBLICATIONS OFFICER: Sheila Jones: 'I have been a member of the Quilling Guild for over fifteen years. When I am not quilling, I enjoy other paper crafts and water colour painting. For several years my husband, David, and I have had the pleasure of boarding trainee guide dogs. We are also involved with the local Twinning Association and are regular visitors to our twinned town, Chambourcy, near Paris.' Sheila hosted our AGM visit to Lutterworth. You can contact her to buy our publications about quilling, also such things as Guild calendars, notelets, etc.

SECRETARY: Paul Jenkins is our Secretary. 'I was one of the founder members of the Guild, one of the first Chairmen, and have held several committee posts over the years. At the moment, I'm also helping with the website. I’m proud to have been associated with the remarkable people who have moved us on since we started. We have a diversity of interests in quilling amongst our members. Just a look around the Festival’s regional tables and competitions shows that our members bring so much of themselves into the craft they enjoy. That’s what I like most about supporting the Guild – to see that, however different our styles and subjects, we all share and enjoy the same craft.' You can contact the Guild by writing to: The Secretary, The Quilling Guild, 33, Mill Rise, Skidby, Cottingham, East Yorkshire, HU16 5UA, UK, or by email to guild@quilling.karoo.co.uk or to Jayne Horner for specific enquiries. However, our General Enquiries Officer Marjorie Wolstenholme will be able to help with general enquiries or point you in the right direction. You can write to her (see below).

TREASURER: Janet Hunt is our treasurer. She has lots of experience in money matters. She keeps our accounts and pays our bills, and is the person who can maybe help to fund some of your regional group's projects.

MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY: Beth Henderson is our membership secretary. In October and November, members send their membership fees to her and she sends out membership cards, lets your Regional Rep know you are there and makes sure you have your Quillers Today magazines sent to you three times a year. If you'd like to join, have a look at our membership page for all the information.

REPRESENTATIVES' LIAISON OFFICER: Josie Jenkins is the new RLO. 'I have been the Reps’ Liaison Officer and a local Rep for The Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire area since October 2006. I have been a quiller and a member of the Quilling Guild from a very young age, but this is my first time on the Quilling Guild’s Committee. As RLO, I work to enable communication between the Guild and its reps and to support reps with encouraging quilling in their local areas.'

ARCHIVIST: Sharon Nattress is looking after our archives at present. You could contact Marjorie, as General Enquiries Officer, if you want to ask about them. We have quillings old and new in our collection, as well as pictures. If you would like to arrange the loan of any items, please outline your plans and we'll see what we can do. Any members who are interested in taking up this interesting role, please contact a member of the committee. This is a non-committee role.

ENQUIRIES OFFICER : Marjorie Wolstenholme is our Enquiries Officer. I started Quilling 27 years ago and became addicted straight away. I joined the guild in 1983, although Iwent to a couple of meeting before the guild was formed. I have a web site and I go to the bigger exhibitions like the G-Mex and the NEC to try to encourage new quillers. I work in a Craft Shop one day a week in Fleetwood, I am married to Brian who you usually see on the door at the AGM. We have 2 children and I have 3 step children.' If you have any general enquiries about the Guild, you can email Marjorie or write to: The Enquiries Officer, The Quilling Guild, 91, Blackpool Road, Carleton, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY6 7QH, UK.

EDITOR LIAISON OFFICER &
COMPETITIONS OFFICER :
Marjorie Wolstenholme has taken on this role as the committee member who is the liaison between the committee and the editor. She also receives competition entries at AGMs and Festivals.

ACCREDITATION OFFICERS: Jayne Horner is our Accreditation Officer, answering queries about the accreditation scheme and registering members for it. If you are interested in Higher Level Accreditation, please contact Helen Barley for information or to buy a Higher Accreditation Pack. Please see our 'Accreditation' page.

WEB SITE OFFICER: Paul Jenkins is the person to contact if you have any questions about the website or would like to add your event or meetings to our Diary of Events. Just post a note or send an email.

EDITOR OF QUILLERS TODAY: Our editor is Lesley Davies. This is a non-committee role. If you have anything to send to Lesley do not hesitate to do so. It can be news from your meetings or events, questions or information about your own quilling. If you have made a quilled card but don't find it easy to draw a design for it, contact Lesley or Jane Jenkins and they'll arrange for that to happen. We love to see your cards in the magazine. Don't be bashful - we don't have to be experts to create a card to admire.

REGIONAL REPRESENTATIVES: Please see the back pages of 'Quillers Today', our magazine for members, for a list of your Reps.
